The International Pirate Community (IPC) is a global network that brings together more than 460,000 pirates across 32+ countries, celebrating pirate-themed culture, historical reenactment, entertainment, maritime heritage, and the many creative ways people around the world embrace the pirate spirit. It connects crews, performers, musicians, festival organizers, educators, creators, families, and pirate enthusiasts, fostering international collaboration, friendship, and camaraderie.
Through its many modules and initiatives, the IPC provides festivals and events, media and education, youth programs, recognition and awards, inclusive community spaces, and interactive tools designed to connect pirates around the world. Its mission is to promote pirate-themed entertainment, education, and cultural exchange in an inclusive, interactive, and immersive environment, while encouraging cooperation between the many crews and organizations that make up the international pirate community.
The IPC believes that different crews can sail different seas while still being part of one global crew. By connecting communities across borders, languages, and cultures, the IPC works to increase the visibility and accessibility of pirate-themed entertainment and help establish it as one of the leading entertainment choices for families around the world.

A pirate who participates in a family festival is no less of a pirate than a historical reenactor, and a person may belong to several facets at the same time.
The IPC simply recognizes that piracy has many different facets. From interpretation to reenactment, from fantasy to music, from entertainment to research, and from community to philosophy, there is no single way to live your piracy.

The Code
The International Pirate Community (IPC) proudly adopted the Code of the 1000 Islands Pirate Society, originally created by Capt’n Tor. With his generous permission, this code now serves as a unifying charter, allowing pirates from all horizons to rally together under shared values of respect, freedom, and camaraderie. Today, the code is available in five different languages, making it accessible to crews around the globe.

Our Pirate Anthem
The International Pirate Community (IPC) proudly adopted the song Libertalia by Ye Banished Privateers as an anthem of unity. With the band's kind permission, this powerful song now brings together pirates from all horizons, united in one voice. Libertalia is now sung in three different languages, echoing the spirit of freedom and brotherhood across the seven seas.
