A Last Toast from the International Pirate Community
Today, the International Pirate Community lowers its colors and raises one final glass in memory of Rich “EZ” Campbell.
From the many voices that have shared their memories, one message comes through clearly: Rich was more than a pirate. He was a friend, a father, a grandfather, a colleague, and a genuinely good man who touched the lives of many.
We heard the words of friends who knew him since high school, of those who had the privilege of working alongside him, and of family who loved him deeply. We heard him remembered as one of the world’s best pirates, a great friend, and simply a great guy to have around.
That is the kind of legacy that matters.
Rich may have sailed beyond our horizon, but the wake he leaves behind will remain in the waters of our community. His stories, his friendship, his laughter, and the memories shared with him will continue to travel from crew to crew, from port to port, and from one generation of pirates to the next.
So, from pirates around the world, we offer our deepest condolences to Rich’s family, friends, and all those who called him brother.
And now, one last toast:
To Rich “EZ” Campbell.
To a life well lived.
To friendships that endure beyond the horizon.
To the memories that will never fade.
And to a pirate who has finally found his next adventure.
May the seas beyond be calm, the winds be fair, and the skies wide open.
Fair winds, Rich. Sail the clouds, good sir.
Your ship may have disappeared over the horizon, but your flag will continue to fly among us.
From the entire International Pirate Community:
Rest in peace, Rich.
You will be missed by many, remembered by all, and forever welcomed among the pirates of every sea.
